A line of jagged clouds take over the sky like a row of soldiers awaiting a command. A protective layer of minty gray spreads overhead from behind them, as a covering for all they stand watch for. It reminds of how Gods love is in constant coverage, and His protection is always on guard. Even when we see just clouds, He still has us covered.
Where do you sense His covering?

Jesus has no fear of getting close to and knowing those locked in sin. They recognize that he sees them differently. He, the judge, actually sets aside judgment to bring attention, and reveal through mercy and grace the hungry soul that lives within. By showing honor and dignity through his presence, he opens ears and eyes to see past themselves and the resignation they have lived in with their choices. Someone sees who I want to be (Seen in Luke 5).
He sees our potential and will honor us with His presence if we only look for Him.

From my knees before the window, the sun lights up the hazy sky and makes the leaves glisten with the remains of the morning dew. Washed out, the scene of houses is silhouetted, trees standing black against the white backdrop. Sun overpowering all else, firmly establishes its authority. There is a point in life where we submit to that which is truly greater and unmovable. Death is one of those things. But even grander is God, who treats death as another stone or step he illuminates and ultimately dominates.
So there is joy to be found even in the darkest times, when we are truly surrendered to our incredibly merciful God.
